We will not be covering NAMM this year. Actually 2010 was the last year we covered it. Jeanne M. O'Keefe of the Lippin Group decided that our PBS Station was non deserving and that none of the PBS Stations we serve need any NAMM coverage. She feels internet bloggers can do a better job so we have to abide by her decision. We know a lot of clients form the Lippin Group use our facilities, but we will not raise our fees for usage to them. The sad part is most of the exhibitors really depend on the TV coverage we would have provided, but this lady seem to know what is best for them, and what is best is that they do not get.

Now she did say we could contact Scott Robertson and ask him for credentials and I will tell you this, I have met Scott several times in the past and he is a decent person, but I doubt seriously if it matters to NAMM whether a PBS Station comes or not and I doubt if he will be emailing us and inviting us to return so. After all we are a small Public Broadcast Studio, not NBC and besides, most of these people have no idea what advertising costs, so for an exhibitor to lose several hundred thousand dollar of free advertizing in a drop in the bucket to NAMM, and of course they already have the exhibitors money so who really cares.

I know some of you may be upset, but from one stand point she is saving us, quite a few dollars. Most people have no clue what it costs to cover an event like this but it runs us about $4700 per day to send a camera crew to cover this type event. On the flip side is the fact that she has slapped PBS stations across the country in their face, as many, depend upon us to provide content to them and we do this at no cost to them.

Realistically this is not a loss to us but it is to NAMM itself. It says a lot about the type coverage they get and most of it will be internet bloggers who reach very few. Remember though, NAMM is for NAMM and not the others. The exhibitors go there to sell and buy product which they will retail to all of us in the near future. Very few go with the thought of introducing anything new or different , nor have anything to stir the masses, so fear not and maybe in the future we will return, but not now, as news stations and broadcast studios do not qualify for their media credentials.

Last year was a great show and during this coming year, we are featuring many of the vendors who attended it.  We would like to thank Jon Bon Jovi, and Rod Stewart for taking the time with us.

CG-1's new CD is out. It is in it's 2 release, the first being sold out.
